INTRODUCTION
At the end of our course for MBA Power Management, it is mandatory for all students to undergo dissertation project. The topic for my dissertation project was to study the important parameters for rural electrification of Uttarakhand and assess its impact on lines of inhabitants and suggest methods to improve.
To study the parameters it was necessary for me to go for survey in form of questionnaires which contain all the parameters which are necessary for rural electrification.The villages of Pauri district were surveyed and were analyzed regarding the effect of Rural electrification in their day to day activities and this dissertation report also includes the several measures to improve the present scenario.

Uttarakhand, the 27 state of India was created on 9th November, 2000 as 10th Himalayan state of country blessed with natural and mineral resources abundance and poised to be a 20,000MW Hydropower Hub of India in the future.
Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited, formerly Uttaranchal Power Corporation Limited was incorporated under Companies act,1956 on Feb 12,2001 consequent upon the formation of state of Uttaranchal, has been entrusted to cater to Transmission and Distribution sectors inherited after the demerger from UPPCL(erstwhile UPSEB) since 1stApril 2001. The EA-2003 mandated the separation of transmission functions under power sector reforms.
